FILMING ON YOUR PROPERTY
Hosting filming at your property is a great way to support Santa Clarita’s entertainment industry while potentially earning additional income. As a host, you’ll help coordinate between the production company, your neighbors, and the community to ensure a positive experience for everyone.
Hosting Tips:
- Be a good neighbor and encourage the production company to respect the surrounding community
- Communicate with neighbors before filming and respond promptly to any concerns
- Work with the location manager to address parking, HOA approvals, and having minimal impact to neighborhood services such as waste collection and street sweeping
- Help minimize disruptions, especially during night filming, by discussing potential noise and lighting concerns in advance
- When appropriate and approved by the production company, invite neighbors to observe filming and meet the crew to foster goodwill
- If your property is used for filming frequently, consider giving back to your neighborhood by supporting local organizations or hosting a community gathering
- List your property for free in the City’s Location Library or consider working with a location management company to increase filming opportunities.
- Before filming begins, verify that the production company has provided:
- An approved film permit from the Santa Clarita Film Office
- A certificate of insurance covering use of your property
