Santa Clarita was the first city in the 30-mile zone to create and approve a special zoning designation, the Movie Ranch Overlay Zone, that supports filming at local movie ranches.

There are currently six movie ranches located within the City’s Movie Ranch Overlay Zone: Blue Cloud Movie Ranch, Rancho Deluxe, Rancho Maria, Diamond V Ranch, Sable Movie Ranch, and the Santa Clarita Movie Ranch
